Food Bank Donation Collection Drivers

It’s a sad fact that many people within our community experience food poverty; that’s why our Food Hub strives to make sure that no one has to go hungry and we endeavour to reduce the stigma attached to people accessing a Food Bank.

In order to keep our Food Bank well stocked we urgently need local volunteers to pick up food donations from collection points across South Derbyshire and deliver them to our service centre which is located in Swadlincote.

When?

Collections must be made weekly, on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday but the hours are flexible between 9.00am and 12.30pm. The only exception to this is the main Sainsbury’s store in Swadlincote from which we collect twice a week due to the volume of donations.

What will you be doing?

You will be required to make collections from one or more locations, depending on your availability, and deliver the items to our CVS Food Centre in Swadlincote the same day before 3.00pm to avoid wastage of perishable items or those with short best before dates.
