Rolleston Pre-school
Playgroup Volunteer
Rolleston pre-school playgroup has been around for many years and been run by volunteers to benefit the community. The main aim of the Playgroup is to provide a safe and friendly environment for local children aged 0-4 and their parents/grandparents and carers to meet. Kids can play, craft, make new friends whilst parents and carers can relax and have a cuppa and a chat with other locals.

What will you be doing?
Playgroup has always relied on volunteers but has been struggling recently to find enough committed individuals. We run every Tuesday (Staffordshire term time only) from 10am till 11:30am. It usually takes 4-5 volunteers every session to set up, monitor and tidy up afterwards with 30 mins extra time before and after each session.
Setting up involves arriving 30 minutes early, bringing toys from the shed to the hall, setting up craft activities if any. During the playgroup you’d help to check people in, let the kids enjoy 60 minutes of free play, prepare snack (very simple one consisting of fruit, cheese, biscuits and juice), serve it at 3-4 tables, clear the table, do a short 10-15 minute sing-along. Tidy up after each session usually takes 30 minutes and includes the washing up (plastic plates and cups), sweeping the floor if messy, taking toys back to the shed.
