SO WHY YOUTH SHAPE?

Youth Shape seeks to provide opportunities for you to engage with Youth Social Action locally, through volunteering.  The programme not only gives you the opportunity to have a voice and make a difference, but also provides training to develop existing and learn new skills which leads to AIM certification, which you can add to your CV and or reference in your UCAS University Application

 

The training and workshops will cover topics such as:

  • what is volunteering and myth-busting

  • how to engage in volunteering

  • teamwork and leadership

  • equity, diversity and inclusion (including stereotypes and unconscious bias).

 

Throughout the we will seek to empower you to develop:

  • Teamwork and Cooperation Skills

  • Communication Skills

  • Leadership Skills

  • Empathy

  • Resilience

As part of the programme you will identify a cause or organisation to support and we will guide you in completing a social action project, for example, to arrange an event to raise awareness and or fundraise, to build a social media campaign, to complete community volunteering.

The programme is funded by Derbyshire County Council and is FREE! to register and complete.
