We are a dynamic and ever-changing organisation with new services and teams regularly coming on board. As such we are looking for volunteers to join our Autism Information and Advice Service. A commitment of approximately 6 hours per week would be ideal to carry out the volunteer role, however, we will also accept volunteers on an ad-hoc basis for events and training opportunities.

What will you be doing?
Responsibilities / Key Tasks:
- Co-delivering autism training
- Supporting the autism service with drop-in events
Some examples of what you could do:
- Run a drop-in at a Children’s Centre.
- Attend and lead when needed at peer support groups and events.
- Support autistic people to access the right service by signposting and/ or providing information.
What skills are required?
Experience is not necessary, but we are looking for individuals who:
- Be friendly and approachable
- Enjoy working out in the community
- Have patience and treat people with kindness
- Are experienced in working with a diverse range of people and providing a welcoming environment for clients
- Understand the role of an unpaid/informal carer
- Can manage own time effectively with a keen eye for detail
- Are in possession of a full driving licence and use of a car, or otherwise able to fulfil the travel requirements necessary.
Is training provided?
Yes, full training and support will be given to the successful candidate to enable them to carry out their role.
