Butterfly Bank Planting Project (Cardales Meadow)
Findern Footpaths
Findern Footpaths is a volunteer-led environmental initiative committed to preserving public rights of way and enhancing local wildlife habitats in Findern, Derbyshire. The project thrives on community involvement and welcomes a wide range of participants to help promote environmental awareness and biodiversity.
We are inviting corporate volunteer teams to support a conservation task focused on the care and development of a newly established butterfly bank, an essential habitat for pollinators and native wildlife. Located in the heart of a meadow and partially screened by a small dead hedge, this habitat requires ongoing maintenance to ensure its success.
Volunteer activities will include:
Digging and weeding (by hand or using tools)
Light rotavating of soil
Planting pollinator-friendly species
Seeding the surrounding area with clover
