Find Your Opportunity to Engage with the Community

Connect and Volunteer

Every successful employer-supported volunteering journey begins with a meaningful connection between people, purpose and community.

Employer-supported volunteering (ESV) refers to arrangements where organisations enable and encourage their employees to volunteer, often during work time, through initiatives such as volunteering leave, organised team activities, or longer-term community partnerships. These opportunities can be delivered as part of a one-off project, a time-limited collaboration, or through ongoing volunteering arrangements that support sustained community engagement.

Whether you are looking as an individual employee or as part of a team, volunteering offers a flexible way to get involved in something meaningful alongside your work. It can be a chance to try something new, share what you already know, or simply give back in a way that fits around your role and lifestyle.

Team volunteering is also a great way to get involved together, offering shared experiences that can strengthen working relationships while making a visible difference in the community. Whether it is a practical project, an event-based activity or a skills-sharing opportunity, there are options that can be shaped around group size, availability and interests.

Volunteering not only benefits local charities and community groups by bringing in much-needed support and expertise, it can also help you build confidence, develop new skills and gain a fresh sense of purpose and perspective outside of work.

At South Derbyshire CVS Volunteer Force, we are here to help you find the right opportunity. We work with a wide range of local organisations to match individuals and teams with volunteering roles that are rewarding, realistic and aligned to your interests and availability.

If you are ready to explore what is available, we can help you take the next step towards a volunteering experience that works for you and makes a genuine difference across South Derbyshire.
