A massive thank you to the amazing 25 volunteers from ALSTOM Engineering, Derby who have supported Findern Footpaths Group with a number of important and time critical projects over the past three days. This included preparing and seeding a wildflower meadow, clearing blackthorn from the meadow, levelling pathways to the butterfly mound and laying bark chippings on eroded footpaths through the woodland at Cardale’s Meadow, Findern.
”Great organisation! don’t think the whole project could have worked better. The team completed many of the tasks in hours when it would have taken us, as a volunteer-led organisation, days if not weeks to complete. It has improved paths and created an area safe or wildlife as well as improved the area for bees and other insects which in turn provides food and habitats for birds and mammals as part of our rewilding initiative.” Findern Footpaths
“It has been great to bring the team together, and everyone has enjoyed helping the community and hopefully making a difference to the area which we worked.” Alstom Engineering
