This year's Volunteer Fair was a resounding success welcoming over 50 volunteers and professionals.
Exhibiting at this year's event 14 VCSE organisations shared information on their opportunities, sharing the benefits of volunteering and the impact it has within our communities.
100% of visitors stated the event met expectations, 86% stated it had made them think more about volunteers, and 100% stated they would recommend the event to friends and or family members.
Here is what some of our visitors said:
"Great event, as recently retired I was looking for something to do with my time, and I thought I would pop in and see what this was all about. I always thought volunteering was centred around charity shops, I have been blown away by the variety and range of volunteering that is available, and I have decided to volunteer with the NSPCC. So thank you for opening my eyes."
"Came with my daughter who has a disability, hoping to find her something to get involved with. We did, and more and both of us are now thinking about what we could do and what to apply for. We were made to feel so welcome thank you!"
"Today has exceeded my expectations, the range of organisations here and the warm friendly welcome made me feel at ease and able to speak to people. I have expressed interest in several opportunities and I am excited about getting started."
"I came with my son to speak to Derbyshire Police about Specials roles, and have come away inspired and have expressed an interest in helping the food bank."
