When?
Flexible – no minimum hours or time commitment but working on an “as and when basis”, sometimes at short notice.
We encourage all volunteers to volunteer with us for a minimum of 6 months.

This role is voluntary, but reasonable out of pocket expenses incurred will be reimbursed as appropriate when agreed in advance. Further information will be provided at induction.
What will you be doing?
KEY EXPECTATIONS
• Carry out transport journeys for service users as scheduled by the Active Travel Coordinator.
• Respond promptly to communications, including phone calls, emails, and SMS text messages, to confirm availability for journeys.
• Monitor and report any concerns regarding the health, well-being, or safety of service users to the Active Travel Coordinator and Safeguarding Team.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with the volunteer driver to coordinate each journey smoothly.
• Provide assistance to the service users as needed.
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS
• Demonstrate punctuality and reliability by attending all scheduled journeys on time.
• Maintain a friendly, respectful, and positive attitude when engaging with service users and colleagues.
• Ensure service users feel safe, supported, and well cared for at all times.
• Uphold confidentiality and treat all service users with dignity and respect.
• Attend initial induction training and participate in annual refresher sessions as required.
• Maintain professional boundaries at all times to ensure respectful and appropriate relationships with service users and colleagues.
• Handle service user information in compliance with Data Protection regulations and GDPR.
• Complete and maintain a valid Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as part of safeguarding requirements.

• Good interpersonal and communication skills with a sensitive and empathetic approach.
• A clear commitment to safeguarding, including the confidence to report concerns when necessary.
• Understanding of the importance of confidentiality and the ability to handle sensitive information appropriately.
• Effective organisational skills with the ability to manage tasks and responsibilities reliably.

• Mandatory checks including DBS.
• Completion of all required training.
