Our Caseworker Volunteers support beneficiaries by working with them to identify what type of help they need, and how to go about accessing it. Caseworkers gather complex information over the phone and face to face to support applications for assistance; provide clear and concise digital reports on a beneficiary’s situation and finances and can also signpost to other specialist support services.
Please note that we ask for a minimum of 12 months commitment to this role.

What will you be doing?
Caseworker Volunteers are supported by a dedicated team of staff here at the Association, who will assign them a beneficiary’s case for assistance.
The Caseworker Volunteer will then meet the beneficiary at their preferred location and complete a digital form to assess their circumstances and the support they need. This will involve asking pertinent questions on sensitive topics such as finances and their health and listening carefully to the beneficiary’s responses.
The Caseworker will then submit a written report, via our online system, to the staff team, who will then work with the volunteer to support the beneficiary.

Is training provided?
Yes, tutor-led 3-day on-line training course. You will achieve a Level 2 qualification in Welfare Support: Information and Advice accredited through the AIM Qualification and Assessment Group. Further refresher training is also available.
