What will you be doing?

Help us to look after our buildings, gardens, and collections to ensure children can continue to enjoy, discover and explore for years to come.

What's involved?
• Helping with the day-to-day cleaning of the visitor route to ensure high presentation standards for visitors.
• Helping children to care for and explore our collections in the Hall and Museum.
• Getting hands on with amazing objects, to clean and care for them.
• Inventory checking, repacking and organizing objects in store or being prepared for exciting new displays.
• Assisting with collections care in other areas, such as the Attics and Museum.
• Alerting the Collections Team to any items that are missing, damaged or deteriorating.
• Monitoring environmental conditions, including pest activity, relative humidity and light levels.
• Helping to catalogue and revise our collections records.
• When the Hall is closed, you will help to thoroughly clean and inspect each room from top to bottom, including paintings, textiles, furniture, ceramics and metalwork; dusting, inspecting and covering every item.

No prior experience is necessary.
