If you love gardens you’ll know they need lots of care and attention. Our volunteers help with the upkeep, development and protection of some of the most beautiful and important gardens and parklands in the UK – so visitors and wildlife can enjoy them.

What will you be doing?

If you love gardens you’ll know they need lots of care and attention. Our volunteers help with the upkeep, development and protection of some of the most beautiful and important gardens and parklands in the UK – so visitors and wildlife can enjoy them.

What's involved?
• Contributing the current and future vision of Sudbury
• Maintaining high levels of presentation standards and good plant health
• Helping the team with everyday practical tasks to keep the gardens/parks looking its best e.g. – tidying up, dead-heading, weeding and caring for borders
• Helping out with the planned development by e.g. planting trees and shrubs
• Being a friendly face for visitors and answering questions
• Being part of a varied and enthusiastic team, though sometimes you may be working independently
• Helping us deliver our commitment to sustainability
• Being prepared to work outside in most weathers
• Being flexible and open around volunteer patterns – on some days you may be limited with the tasks you can do

No prior experience is necessary.

• Interested in learning about gardening or have skills you want to develop

• Happy to learn from others and adapt your approach – the way you do it at home may not be the way we do it here and sometimes we need consistency throughout the gardens to reach our potential!
