You'd like to help, but…
Lots of people want to volunteer and never quite find a way in. The Volunteer Force Team is for exactly that.
"I can't commit to the same time every week."
You don't have to. Say yes to the tasks or activities that suit you, when they suit you.
"I'm not sure what I'd be good at."
We'll have a friendly chat with you first and help you find out. Most people have more to offer than they think.
"I've got skills I'd love to use, just not every week."
Bring them to a task or activity where they make a real difference to a local group.
"I've been out of things for a while."
Start small, with a welcoming team and support around you from day one.
What could you do?
Tasks and activities change through the year. Some take a couple of hours, some a full day, and some can be done from home. Examples include:
Behind the Scenes
Support our teams and services with a range of reception and administrative tasks, helping to keep day-to-day operations running smoothly, particularly during busy periods. This could include welcoming visitors, preparing mailings, organising information and resources, assembling event packs or helping with general administrative tasks.
Community Events
Support our teams and services with planning and preparation, welcoming visitors, stewarding and ensuring activities run smoothly. This may include providing information about our services and signposting people to appropriate support and referral pathways.
Outdoors and Green Spaces
Support residents through our service with gardening and outdoor maintenance activities, helping to create cleaner, greener, safer and more accessible spaces for everyone to enjoy. Get involved in community projects such as litter picks, planting initiatives, environmental improvements and conservation activities, working alongside residents and local communities to improve and care for shared outdoor spaces.
Share Your Skills
Share your skills, knowledge and experience to support our organisation or local community groups with specialist advice, guidance and practical assistance.
Digital Help
Support our residents and community groups to build confidence and develop essential digital skills, helping them make better use of technology in their everyday lives.
Project Days
Support our seasonal projects and community initiatives or get involved in practical tasks and activities that help maintain, improve and enhance local venues and shared spaces.
and more....

No fixed rotas and no long-term commitment.
Sign-up once, then choose the tasks and activities around your life.
