South Derbyshire CVS brings people and communities together to make local life better. By supporting residents, volunteers and grassroots organisations, it helps build stronger connections, create opportunities and ensure communities across South Derbyshire can thrive.
Be part of the change your community needs. Give your time, skills and energy to help tackle the challenges people face every day, strengthen local communities and make a real difference to lives across South Derbyshire. Volunteer with us and help make life better.
Our Volunteers bring energy, skills, local knowledge and fresh ideas. They strengthen community connections, extend the reach of services and offer valuable time and compassion, helping South Derbyshire CVS support more people, respond to local needs and create lasting positive change across the community.
South Derbyshire CVS is unable to accept volunteers who live outside the UK and is unable to sponsor visa applications. Thank you for your interest in supporting our work.
Our volunteering roles, make a real difference to residents in South Derbyshire.
We are always looking for enthusiastic, compassionate and committed people to support our essential services. See where you could help.

Voluntary Befrienders
Support South Derbyshire residents who are socially isolated or lonely for whatever reason.
Our Voluntary Befrienders provide confidential, one to one support via a weekly home visit or telephone call; helping to reduce the feeling of loneliness and isolation and improve wellbeing.

Home from Hospital Volunteers
Our volunteers support vulnerable individuals leaving hospital or living at home with limited support, by providing short-term practical assistance, typically for up to six weeks, to help them regain independence, maintain wellbeing, and reduce the risk of hospital readmission.

Voluntary Food Donation Collectors
Our volunteers support the effective operation of the Food Bank by collecting donated food from designated locations across South Derbyshire and transporting it to the Swadlincote service centre, helping to maintain a reliable and well-stocked supply for those in need.
