All our volunteer roles have three shared characteristics, no matter what part of the property you are supporting. We expect our whole team to provide exceptional service, uphold the very best presentation standards and engage with visitors to build a connection between them and Sudbury, which will bring them back time and time again

What will you be doing?

- Creating warm welcomes for every visitor, putting their needs first

- Sharing information, answering questions and helping visitors get the most out of their visit

- Giving personalised goodbyes and heartfelt thank yous

- Multi-tasking across the site to help us keep the property looking fabulous, reporting where something may need attention

- Looking out for ways to do the little things that make a big difference

- Helping visitors get their bearings and informing on the best routes around the property depending on their needs

- Helping the team in achieving our ‘growing support’ targets, by promoting membership, fundraising and Gift Aid

- Finding out what’s on offer at Sudbury and other local sites, so you can promote the National Trust and deepen their connection to our cause

- Keeping in touch with the wider team, so you know what’s happening

- You are important in making sure things run smoothly and safely as possible – this includes getting to know health and safety, safeguarding and evacuation procedures

- Being part of a team that may need to adapt and change in response to local needs, National Trust priorities or changes to government guidelines

What skills are required?

- Someone who loves meeting people and being part of a team
- Looking for new experiences
- Wanting to utilise your communication skills or develop them further
- Someone who enjoys a busy environment
- Cheerful – even when a coach party has just arrived and it’s a little bit hectic!
